Canada Tractor 67 massey 165,1947 Farmall A, 1949 Massey Harris, 1955 Ford 600 with b/hoe and loader J.D. 350 Crawler with winch and 6 way blade,Kabota riding mower, Husquavarna riding mower,Kawasaki quad and a wife I am hoping to be able to change to a universal skid steer quick-attach plate system for my Ford 7108Q FEL, so that I can use/rent/build skid loader attachments and not be stuck with "just a bucket". I am guessing that there have been plenty of folks on the forum that have done this before. What is an acceptable gap between the mount plate and the quick tach? The wrench in the photograph is a 3/4 inch craftsman and there is extra room above it. So, almost 1/2 inch gap. The photograph is looking up into the slot where the pin would be when the two components are mounted.

I have an actual front attach off of a skid steer that I purchased to adapt my tractor to this syatem. My wife however talked me into buying a universal mount type. It is not as heavy as the universal mount I bought but needs the pins and arms to be a workable unit. I paid 50.00 for it and would. As soon as I dig in with the grapple the pins (the vertical pins on the skid steer plate that keep the grapple mounted) will begin to slide up and the grapple releases. When I compare my plate with newer ones I see that my pins are smaller in diameter by about 1/4 inch and come to a sharp edge at the bottom where the newer style pins are larger .
