The benefit of the side to side boom system on the Taki is the weight is more centered in the middle of the machine and not out front like a typical swing boom mini excavator, so it can really lift. I am anxious to run this new version of the 153.

We are looking at a very large purchase in buying a mini excavator and were wondering if the benefits of going with a CAT are better than going with a Kubota. Shin Caterpillar Mitsubishi's new mini excavator also is important for another reason. It features a so-called compact radius. The cab-and-engine unit, in other words, has a diameter smaller than the width and length of the crawler unit beneath. I've been offered a CAT 302.5 mini excavator by a friend who is packing up. The price is great (no quibble there), but having used the machine a couple of times long ago, my impression of it wasn't as good as our existing Case CK28 (even though the case is . The CAT will give you a better cab, and the ability to dial in your aux. flows if that is important to you. I don't think Kubota has that ability yet. That to me would be enough to tip it toward the Cat.
I am thinking about purchasing a Hyundai Mini Excavator model R17Z-9A for digging small ponds and stumps and planting large trees. What are your thoughts on this Manufacture? A friend in the business is trying to convince me. I’d like to hear some facts and or opinions on mini excavators. I’m interested in a used machine in the 10,000 to 12,000 pound range. Bobcat, John Deere or Kubota are carried by local dealers but no used ones on the lot.
