Over the past several weeks, I have had an issue where the parking brake engages intermittently while the machine is in use. My 250 won't let the park brake disconnect. Have checked all switchs. It will start and will let the hyd. bucket go up and down and tilt but won't let park loose.

They're known for wiring problems and fuse block terminals melting. It acts as a lock for the pedals so they can't move when the park brake is engaged. One of them was drawing enough current to blow the fuse. These are pretty easy fixes but a real pain. The park brake is an electric solenoid. If your parking brake is giving trouble, check seat switch, then seat belt switch, then park lock switch, then replace the dash with the updated one with wire harness. If you bypass the seatbelt switch the machine will not release the parking brake. You must first sit down, then plug in the seatbelt. If you don't do it in that order the machine will not release the parking brake and the seatbelt light stays on. My 8200 this afternoon would shift itself to nuetral then to park and threw codes PCU 24 and PCU 56. So I went to Deere and got a new parking brake silenoid (sp?). It doesn't look quite like I remembered. Has anyone changed one of these? Where's it located on the tractor? Will I need any special tools (allen or star bits, etc.)? The tractor is .
