Cracking open the hydraulic pump on my Case 1845 Skid Steer and taking a look inside.I have a 1845 case skid steer and the hydraulic pump is leaking through the forward and revers control shafts can I pull. Mechanic's Assistant chat.
Gentlemen, I have a Case 1845c that needs the yoke or clevis portion of the drive shaft coupler between the engine and hydraulic pump. The piece I need is the yoke portion which fits on-to the splined shaft of the pump, just the end piece. Main drive pump is removed already and splines are good and couplers are good in between each pump. Belt that drives that pump is in good condition and tight. The U-joint and shaft that runs to the "tandum pumps" is good.
I agree and the drive, or hydrostatic system, (Sundstrand/Danfoss) works very well. There is an easy access SAE B, or C pilot flange gear pump at the rear w/ 7/8-13 spline input shaft for the loader hydraulics. To change a pump is basically a slip fit. Been a few years since I got that deep in to the one where I worked, but think about the only options are to remove one or the other. May be possible to leave at least somethings connected to the pump and pull it forward enough to get the shaft out. You should be able to replace seals in place, no need to pull the pump. Other members have used a shop vac and hooked it up the the hydraulic tank to pull a slight vacuum on the oil so it won't leak out the pump when opened. Good luck with the repairs guys!Defective hydraulic pump - Repair or replace pump if necessary. Faulty hydraulic control valve - Change or repair hydraulic valve. Defective bucket cylinder - Repair or replace cylinder.
