I have checked the wiring on the compressor and it's losing hot when it cuts off, so I know it's not the compressor. Also have tried jumping over with a jumper wire both the high pressure and low pressure switches, with no change.
As for the switch, you could cheat by turning the ac on and jumping power to the compressor. If it gets cold the problem is electrical, if it doesn't, its a gas issue. I tested this with my machine. Ran it and jumped the clutch for the compressor and held the hoses, one got icy cold, the other hot.
