Hi I have a cat 287b skid steer that is having park brake issues. It first started with the arm bar light staying on and the park brake light staying on even when I turned them off. Sometimes it works fine sometimes it wont move at all and you cant move the bucket controls.Once the skid steer is started and all safety switches are closed, when you press the parking brake switch to release it will flash. The right joystick becomes active and can be operated but unit will not move.--- Please check your seat switch. That is a common issue for the parking brake to randomly engage. If that is not the issue, check for corrosion on the fuses or loose/damage connectors that cause a loss of power to the ECM or the fuses. Customer. The switch still works as it releases hydraulics to the bucket and lift cylinders. Parking brake light on the console stays on. But light doesn't come on in the switch. (does this light suppose to come on) I have replace the parking brake switch and parking brake solenoid.
When operating machine every now and then the park brake will trip. Cycle the switch and it will continue on. May do it back to back and then go a hour before it trips again. What would cause this? Thanks for the help. When starting the machine, turning the key on all lights light up then when functioning normally parking light stay on and switch functions after starting.
