Have a 1987 New Holland L785. Have changed the hydraulic oil, two hydraulic filters, cleaned mesh screen on intake side of gear pump. Machine was working good and then all of a sudden boom no longer works.
If its just lift and tilt that are weak and slow it could be the relief valve or your hydraulic pump is worn out. Is your oil foamy? foamy oil can be caused by a plugged filter. Does it make weird noises while trying to lift? I recently acquired a New Holland 785 (1992 model) skid Steer. I don't know much about its past since I bought it at auction. What I do know is when I bought it had a bad hydraulic leak (turned out to be the filter seal was out of place).
#1. Frequently the boom and bucket will not move even if the system is in float. Turning the engine off and then just turning the key on, not starting the motor, the boom will drop when in float. Starting the engine the system works as it should until it happens again. Anyone have ideas why this is happening? P. psuce1. Member. Joined. Mar 31, 2011
Hydraulic oil level is low - Check and refill the hydraulic oil. Drive chain is worn - Inspect drive chain and replace defective parts. Worn or damaged relief valve - Change or repair defective relief valve. Hey guys, have a New Holland L785 skid steer. It's developed a hydraulic oil leak and until I have a chance to find and fix the leak, was wondering if I can add a certain oil to the system to keep it full without any ill effects. The machine has developed several hydraulic leaks recently. I jacked up the machine and put it on wooden cross beams, took off the tires and ran it with the seat assembly off to look at the pumps and motors while it was runniing and under load.
I have a NH L785 skid steer that won't start. Had been moving stuff all day, shut it off, 5 minutes later it won't turn over. Don't hear solenoids clicking. Can jump the starter solenoid or the other solenoid and will start, but hydraulics stay locked. The seat belt light goes out when I put seat belt on. I have the seat pressure switch bypassed.
Our skid steer has become very stiff too steer, it feels like a hydraulic resistance in both levers when trying to move. It has normal power and speed, just stiff to steer. We don't see anything that could be rubbing, and the resistance is the same on both levers. Recently it developed a problem with hydraulic fluid spewing out from the Hydraulic tank breather when I move the boom up and down. The fluid comes out in great quantities and the fluid is full of tiny air bubbles. Have a 1987 New Holland L785.
