Loosen off the injection lines, at the injectors and crank over the engine. When . Recently picked up a 1985 Case 1835b gas engine skidsteer with 3300 hours and has been sitting for the last 9 years. It was used only 50 hours in the last 20 years. It seemed to start and run fine when I looked at it.

Loosen off the injection lines, at the injectors and crank over the engine. When fuel comes out of them the air is bled out. Tighten the lines and it should run. The fuel shut off solenoid wire breaks off sometimes too, so check that, if no fuel comes out. The problem of running after the key is shut off has to do with air getting in the fuel system. I would highly recommend adding a lift pump at the floor level of machine to reduce the chance of air ingress, and also to greatly ease bleeding the supply side of the fuel system.

It has an after-market auxiliary low-pressure fuel pump that feeds into the 2-filter housing (picture 2 with auxiliary pump removed.) It draws from a small in-line canister (picture 3) right at the bottom of the fuel tank with a shut off valve treaded into the tank. Thanks for your help - On the top of the injector pump is the fuel shutoff solenoid. From this is a Tee that brings return fuel from the injectors as well as overflow fuel from the pump back to the fuel tank. I pulled the drain plug out of the fuel filter that is on the top/side, got fuel there. Tightened it back up. Cracked line loose before the injection pump, got fuel there. Any good diesel shop should have one and alot cheaper than Case. Last winter fuel shut off solenoid went bad on my 1840 139.00 at case local diesel shop 35.00 for the same Bosch solenoid.

I have a case 1835b deisel skid loader and i am having some issues with it. I have changed all of the fuel filters, drained the fuel from the tank, and even put a new fuel pump on it. It will rev up hard at the start but very soon it will only run about 1/4 throttle at full throttle.

Run the engine up to normal operating temp then clamp off the fuel line between the hand primer and the filters, then shut down the engine. The following day (with the fuel line still clamped) try starting the engine. Check the fuel shut solenoid is working, if it's not, it will not allow fuel to get to the injector pump. Start by hooking up a jug of fresh fuel straight to the lift pump. Prime it and ensure you are getting fuel to the injector pump (lift pumps do go bad).
