As with most internet searches for equipment reviews, you typically only find those folks with bad experiences and looking to vent. As someone looking to add a skid steer on a modest budget to the farm, I've found several Mustang's in my price range but I'm leary based on lack of positive reviews.

I ran across a Mustang 940 skid steer with low hours. Just wondering if people have experience operating these skids? What controls are used on these machines? Are parts readily available? The previous owner seemed to have neglected some of the regular maintainence amazed it was running as good as it was, never saw an air or fuel filter gunked up so bad. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about the quality and longevity or mustang skid steers. The one i am looking at has an owner that doesn't know the model but it is a early eighties model and is yellow with a four cylinder gas engine.
i have a 2004 Mustang 2044, great little machine, simple to operate and repair. i would join heavyequipmentforums.com and do a search on the 2109. ive read quite a few horror stories about the 2109. do afew searches online first.
The same dealer has 2 mid 90's Mustang brand skid steers that are priced about 00 less than the Case and have lower hours and appear to be in great shape. New tires, tight pins, no weld repairs, no leaks, good hoses, not banged up, and clean paint. My Mustang has 2400 hours on it. It runs and operates great. When we got it the air filter was filthy. We replaced it. I am now going to change both.
