I just bought a 4400 gehl skid steer with not quite 1600 hrs, its a nice straight machine. What years did they make this machine, I can't find a serial number plate. What is the lift capacity? The forward/reverse control is real senesitive, can this be adjusted any? Any mechalical thing I should watch out for on this machine?

We had an older 35 series Gehl for a while which was before my time, but served us well for many years. From that we upgraded to a 3640 which had a few issues, and then upgraded to a 4240 which has almost 4000 hours on now. Next one . Have had quite a few gas Gehls here, 2500, 4400, 3510 and they all were pretty good machines. If it has a Honda in it, the parts issues for the original engine are solved and I certainly wouldn't be afraid of it.
