I have a 48" Bobcat vibrating roller attachment. It works very well for its size but . Does any body have a vibratory roller for their skid steer? I was wondering how well they work? How would they compare to a Drum roller with the same drum width for compaction? Or a diesel plate compactor? Thanks. I have a 48" Bobcat vibrating roller attachment. It works very well for its size but it is a high maintenance unit. If you put too much weight on it you will be replacing bearings.
Since buying trench rollers we have no reason for a skid steer roller anymore. For what we do and our soils a trench roller works great for compaction jobs that doesn't warrant bringing in our 84" padfoot. You can pick up a good used trench roller at auction for -7K.

I bought a vibratory roller from Ritchie Brothers. It's a Suihe brand. On the sides it says that you need to put gear oil in it. Around 3.6L. I cannot find. Is there anything I should note about sharing attachments between the two machines? I do understand that the attachments made directly for the minis are smaller and thus lighter, but my attachments seem to all be within the operating weight of the mini. The compactors roller pivot hub extends into the skid steers attachment plate. It extends so far that it contacts heavily with the hydraulic cylinder for the auto coupling system. The compactor pivot hub is approximately 3/4 inches too long, and could not be cut shorter.
