My M-600 manual states type"A" automatic transmission fluid or Dexron fluid. That stuff is expensive (/qt. = 0), and I need 20 gallons to replace the very old thin black stuff in there at the moment. I was going to treat my Bobcat to a new filter and fluid transfusion, but may have to take out a second mortgage to do so. My question is about hydraulic fluid, does anyone have a preference as to what type I should get? I am sure the manual will point me to an obsolete type. Does anyone know roughly how much to buy? I just bought a L555 that has been neglected somewhat and I want to catch her up. I ordered a service manual. Never owned a skid before so I am a newbie.. My 1999 Lx665 manual recommends diesel rated 10w30 motor oil in both the engine and hydraulic system. I bought the machine used and was told that the hydraulic system was likely filled with "hydraulic fluid" (no type mentioned) since they use it in most all their heavy equip. The other day I blew a hyd. line so I have to add a lot of fluid. The specs have changed over the years. What you will find today will probably have spec cj4. Just use a good quality 10w30 oil.

Hi all, Just replaced my transmission main shaft and engine hub on my NH l553. In the past I have used a TDH hydraulic oil but I have read that I should use engine oil. Any opinions? There still would be some hydraulic fluid in the system, would that be a issue if I was to use engine oil.

Hi all, I'm a new owner of an L783, am still waiting to get my hands on the owner's manual. Had some fits with the hydraulic system, shop found some pipe thread sealant on one of the hydraulic filters, is recommending a complete replacement of the fluid and of the filters. Unfortunately, price for labor and supplies is out of my budget right now. I know new holland calls for 10w30 in the hydraulic system but I'm having trouble finding bulk oil near me. Northern tool sells 10w30 multipurpose hydraulic oil in bulk. I need to change mine and flush the system so this more than likely won't stay in the machine longer than a couple hrs. Would it be ok or do I need actual 10w30 motor oil?

Call 1-800-635-4913 with a credit card in hand. New Holland Technical Publications will sell you an op manual for your new SSL. Have your serial number handy just in case there is more than one manual for early/late production machines or something. No point in getting a manual that is 'almost the right one'.

Hello, new here. I have gotten a headache trying to find out what to use. Everytime I try to search I get threads on tractors so let me explain. I have a 1980 L775. I had a "mishap" and broke both Bucket cylinders. Luckily I sourced two used ones and am ready to install and refill. We had always.
