This video shows how to bypass the interlock solenoids and seat belt switch on any new Holland LX series skidsteers. If anything in that circuit has any issues the machine won't start. The best way to do it is to get a new connector and jump the two pins for the seat switch. In this way, you can unplug the seat harness from the main harness, and then plug your jumper in. The problem with leaving it jumped all the time is that the EIC board will stay powered up, and will eventually drain the battery.

I want to change out the seat on my 1992 L785 and there are no holes for the two seat switches in the new seat. My old seat base has big chunks of cushion missing and you can just pick the whole thing up off the metal frame and toss it like a frisbee. The resistor is in the line that goes to the quick disconnect and has a lead to the seat belt switch. If you remove the quick disconnect plug end going to the two operator present seat switches and wire in a two position “on/off” switch that will solve the issue.

If the seat belt light is not going out when you fasten the seat belt, there is likely something wrong with it. If it is going out then your issue is somewhere else. The seat belt switch gets power from the seat switch then sends it to the interlock and EIC. Make sure the EIC (Electronic Instrument Cluster) is getting power from the seat belt .

Most common problems on interlock problems are: Seat belt latch, seat wire harness (especially on machines with suspension seats), fuse, seat switches, interlock relay, and instrument panel. Pull the two wires from the seat belt coupler and run them to a toggle switch. Everytime you get in and out of the seat you have to toggle the switch. I have read the plentiful info on the New Holland seat pressure switch and seat belt issue and mine seems to be a little different. First off, my machine starts and moves around like it should. When I sit on the seat, the panel lights up so the seat switch is working.

If it is that switch at the female side of the seat belt latch, then New Holland says you have to give them about 0 + for a complete new assembly. Or, you can remove the female side and split the case with a screwdriver to access the switch inside. It will sit down over 2 tabs.
